MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama continues to promote his campaign to adopt gun control regulations, promising to vote against all 2016 US presidential candidates who oppose the proposed reform.
"Even as I continue to take every action possible as president, I will also take every action I can as a citizen. I will not campaign for, vote for or support any candidate, even in my own party, who does not support common-sense gun reform," Obama wrote in The New York Times newspaper on Thursday.
According to a recent CNN poll, 67 percent of US citizens voiced their support for Obama’s gun control regulations.
The United States has an annual average of over 32,000 gun-related deaths. In 2015, there were some 372 mass shootings around the country.
