MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The three-hour show, organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), will be broadcast live around the world 5 p.m. local time (01:00 Monday GMT).
The nominees for the Best Motion Picture – Drama category includes Todd Haynes’s Carol, Spotlight by Tom McCarthy, which depicts the journalistic investigation into crimes committed by the Catholic Church in the United States, George Miller’s action movie Mad Max: Fury Road, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, and Lenny Abrahamson’s drama-thriller film Room.
All of the aforementioned directors, except Abrahamson, were announced nominees for the Best Director award.
Such TV shows as Game of Thrones, Empire, Mr.Robot, Narcos, and Outlander will compete for the Best Television Series – Drama award.
English comedian Ricky Gervais will host the Golden Globe, one of Hollywood's biggest awards ceremonies, for the fourth time.
The Golden Globe Award was created by the HFPA in 1943 and awarded for the first time a year later.
