MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Monday, the French government gave migrants three days to leave, The Guardian newspaper said.
The 1,500-person camp, which is housing around 4,000, is due to be resettled to a better organized compound made of sturdier and warmer containers, but refugees say the new camp lacks communal facilities like churches and resembles a prison.
Fears are also that once inside the new camp, refugees will be forced to claim asylum in France, instead of being allowed to move around the European Union. Most of the campers hope to cross into the United Kingdom.
