MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos has not been scheduled yet, a source in the Pakistani government told Sputnik Tuesday.
"There is no meeting scheduled with Modi in Davos. I think it would depend on the meeting between foreign secretaries, if it takes place. So far, the meeting is suspended due to the Pathankot incident," the source said, while also confirming Nawaz’ attendance at the WEF.
A group of gunmen stormed the Pathankot airbase in the Indian region of Punjab on January 2, killing at least seven security personnel. The Foreign Ministry of India called on Pakistan to deliver "prompt and decisive action" based on the evidence provided to it by India about the terror attack, which suggests that the attackers were Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed militants.
Modi's participation in the WEF has not been confirmed yet.
The last meeting between Modi and Nawaz took place on December 25 last year.
