MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a blast near the Pakistani Consulate in Jalalabad, and an ensuing exchange of fire between Afghan security forces and terrorists, left nine people dead, and 12 others injured.
"Khorasan Province of the Islamic State (IS) claimed a three-man suicide raid on the Pakistani Consulate in Jalalabad, the provincial capital of Nangarhar, Afghanistan," the group said in a statement published on its website.
Daesh is a terrorist group outlawed in Russia and many other countries for its numerous atrocities, including the November attacks in Paris, claiming lives of 130 people, and the October downing of a Russian passenger plane in Egypt that killed all 224 people on board.
