Turkish police detained 10 alleged Daesh militants in two provinces, following the deadly terrorist attack in Istanbul, local media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to DHA news agency, police conducted an operation in the Aegean province of Izmir, where six people suspected of recruiting militants for Daesh were detained.

Istanbul Blast: Is It Only Beginning?
Another four suspects allegedly linked to the terror group were detained during an operation in the province of Konya in central Turkey.

According to the media outlet, the suspected Daesh members are being investigated for providing the group with logistical support and recruiting new members.

An explosion in Istanbul’s historical center claimed the lives of at least 10 people and injured at least 15 others. Most of the victims of the attack were German nationals.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the incident a terrorist act, adding that it was perpetrated by a Syrian suicide bomber, while Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu claimed that the attack was linked to Daesh terrorist group.
