MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Al Jazeera broadcaster, Indonesia's police have confirmed that Daesh recently threatened the country directly.
Earlier in the day, at least six people were killed in a series of explosions in Jakarta after several assailants entered the downtown area on motorcycles, carrying rifles and explosives. Indonesian President Joko Widodo classified the explosions as a terrorist act.
According to preliminary data, a total of six blasts hit the Indonesian capital on Thursday. One of the explosions took place near a shopping center, the other near a Starbucks coffee shop.
Daesh, outlawed in many countries including Russia, has not claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
