MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia will cut spending on all state programs in the country’s 2016 budget, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev said Thursday.
"The cuts, I think, will apply to all state programs <…> Those in charge will have to prioritize for themselves," Fomichev told journalists.
The deputy minister, however, stressed that the state programs would continue because they were an important part of government policy.
The Russian government has given the country’s Ministry of Finance until Friday to submit a plan for cutting state expenditure by 10 percent.
