MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian military will hold Iskander-M missile firing exercises in the country’s southern region of Astrakhan, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Southern Military District’s press service announced Friday.
Servicemen deployed in the southern Republic of North Ossetia traveled over 1,000 kilometers (more than 620 miles) to the Kapustin Yar Range in the Astrakhan Region where they will take up positions and prepare for combat launches. The servicemen will conduct practice firing of the Iskander-M missile against various ground targets, the press service said.
