TASHKENT (Sputnik) – The foreign minister of the Central Asian nation of Uzbekistan will pay an official three-day visit to the United States early next week for political consultations, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
"The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will visit the US on January 19-21, 2016," the statement reads.
The Uzbek delegation is also expected to hold bilateral meetings and talks at the State and other departments, the ministry adds.
The visit follows State Secretary John Kerry’s tour of five Central Asian states including Uzbekistan in October-November, where a joint declaration upheld a six-party commitment to deeper cooperation through regular "C5+1" format meetings.
