MOSCOW (Sputnik) Hackers claiming links to the Daesh, also known as ISIL/The Islamic State militant group, broke into the website of China’s leading university and posted a message calling for holy war, local media reported Monday.

An image, posted on the hacked webpage of Tsinghua University, featured a cavalry of jihadist fighters waving a black-and-white Islamist banner. The caption read "Everything is okay in the end. If it’s not okay, then it’s not the end."

The message was signed by "Islamic State Hacker," according to a screenshot published by the South China Morning Post newspaper.

A university staff member confirmed the hacking to Morning Post. The website was reportedly shut down soon after the image was discovered.

Tsinghua University is one of China’s top state research universities. It is involved in defense and national security research projects.
