MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Al-Thani arrived in Moscow late Sunday for a series of official meetings with Russian authorities, including with President Vladimir Putin later today.
"We have always counted on Russia to assist countries in our region in solving urgent issues," the Qatari emir said at a meeting with Russian upper house speaker Valentina Matvienko.
Al-Thani pointed to coordination between Moscow and Doha in political and economic spheres. During his meeting with Putin, the emir is expected to zero in on bilateral trade, economy, investment, energy and humanitarian issues.
