MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The 11th G20 meeting will be held in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou on September 4-5, 2016.
"As a host country of the G20 summit, China is ready to work with each country to build ‘an innovative, sustainable, connected and tolerant economy.’ This will be the main topic of the 2016 summit," Li said.
The preparatory work for the summit has already begun, the diplomat stressed.
"Sessions of the coordinating boards, a meeting of the finance ministers and the heads of central banks, a meeting of the chiefs of relevant ministries, as well as other activities within the G20 framework, including [six G20 Engagement Groups] Civil 20, Labor 20, Youth 20, Think 20 and Women 20, are being prepared," Li emphasized.
The Group of Twenty is a premier forum for member cooperation on international economic and financial issues. It comprises such countries as Russia, the United States, Britain, China, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, among other states.
