KIEV (Sputnik) – Russia imposed a ban on some of Ukrainian food imports starting on January 1 in retaliation to Kiev’s support of sanctions against Moscow.
"Ukrainian producers have suffered direct losses worth $98 million in missed revenues," Aivaras Abromavicius told reporters.
Russia has banned meat, sausages, fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products made in Ukraine. In return, Kiev accused Moscow of breaching World Trade Organization rules and vowed to challenge the trade restrictions in court.
