ASTANA (Sputnik) — Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree to dissolve the lower house of the country's parliament, the Majilis, his press service said Wednesday.

Lawmakers asked the president to dissolve the Majilis earlier in the day due to the "worsened economic situation" in the country. Early parliamentary elections are scheduled for March 20.
