“We have witnessed the consequences [of the migrant influx]: a rise in crime, rape, the threat of terrorism,” Wilders said.
Every migrant costs Dutch tax payers 36,000 euros ($39,200) a year, the politician added.
According to Wilders, the country should use the money it spends on refugees to aid the social sphere instead.
"Each euro spent on a migrant is a euro that cannot be spent on the Dutch elderly, the poor, and each new migrant makes the Dutch people less safe," Wilders said.
According to the Dutch authorities, a record number of almost 60,000 asylum seekers sought asylum in the country in 2015, over two times more than in 2014.
On Monday, a massive anti-refugee rally took place in a small town of Heesch in the Netherlands over plans to construct a center to accommodate 500 asylum seekers in the town with a population of merely 12,500. About 1,000 people took to the streets, clashing with riot police afterward.
