MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Cairo and Moscow may establish and promote cooperation in a number of energy sectors in the future, NREA's Mohamed Salah Sobki said.
"[The production of] low-speed wind turbines is among these areas. We intend to invest in all the major sources of energy in Egypt, including wind and solar ones. Russia has made significant progress in the development of technologies related to low wind speeds," Sobki stated, expressing hope for fruitful cooperation.
Wind turbines are designed to generate electricity from the kinetic power of wind. Currently, Russian wind energy projects have a total capacity of over 1,700 megawatts, according to some estimates.
