It started when some teenage boys noticed an unnattended and running car in Daytona Beach, FL. Being 16, they naturally jumped into the car and drove away.
Minutes later, the inattentive woman who owned the car returned and, seeing no car, notified the police. A patrol car spotted the stolen vehicle on the go. The officers blew out two tires on the fleeing car, but the teens kept driving. The police chief then took the initiative, attempting to stop the teens with his cruiser. He failed, and the underage carjackers sideswiped his vehicle and fled. The kids eventually crashed, but fortunately no one was hurt.
All three were subsequently arrested.
