NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — Security concerns have been on the rise in India after a group of gunmen in army uniforms stormed the Pathankot airbase in the Punjab region near the border with Pakistan on January 2. A civilian and at least seven Indian security personnel were killed in the attack.
"Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh has called a high level meeting at 2.30 p.m. (IST) [08:00 GMT] in New Delhi today to discuss cross border infiltration along the Indo-Pak LoC. Border Security Force and Army officials will be present in the meeting," the source said.
Last week, Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said Indian airbases would undergo security checks after the Pathankot attack.
