CAIRO (Sputnik) – The date for the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva on January 25 is not carved in stone and will probably begin on January 27 or later, the deputy head of the Syrian opposition’s delegation told Sputnik on Friday.
“As one of the parties [of the talks], we are in no way tied to a concrete date of the negotiations, this is determined by the UN and [UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan] de Mistura. Invitations have yet to be sent and if they were sent, then we would be speaking about a concrete date…it’s confirmed that January 25 is no longer the date set for the negotiations,” George Sabra said, adding that the talks could be held after January 27.
