MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A statement by ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova comes shortly after Washington had announced its consent with the opposition representation list formed at last month's Riyadh conference.
"I believe that the position voiced by my American colleague is a step away from agreements reached at meetings of the International Syria Support Group and later approved in the USNC Resolution 2254 of December 18, 2015," Zakharova said.
The spokeswoman insisted that the resolution clearly stipulates that the opposition representation "must be determined on the basis of opposition meetings in Moscow, Cairo and Riyadh, as well as other initiatives taken to achieve this goal."
