"We are ready to provide all necessary assistance to [ensure] the mission will receive a complete picture of life today for Crimeans. The success of this mission will primarily depend on how objective its representatives will be when analyzing ongoing processes in Crimea," Konstantin Bakharev told RIA Novosti.
The deputy chairman said that no European politicians or parliamentarians had reported seeing any mass violations of citizens' rights during their visits to Crimea.
Bakharev said that participants in the mission should pay attention to the impact of the Ukrainian blockade of transport, energy and water reaching Crimea, which was a flagrant violation of human rights.
Crimea joined Russia following a referendum in 2014, in which 96 percent of those who voted, did so in favor of the move. The government of Ukraine and many Western countries refused to recognize the referendum results and introduced sanctions against the region.
The Ukrainian authorities have completely halted air, rail, bus and freight connections with Crimea, as well as the water, food and electricity supply. A trade embargo came into force in mid-January, while proposed financial, maritime and network blockades have also been announced.
