"It is not excluded that the German side may express the wish to hold such a meeting — primarily, at the level of political directors under the foreign ministers' auspices, but I cannot give a specific date and place of this meeting, and I cannot confirm the dates that you have suggested," Schaefer told RIA Novosti responding to whether the next meeting might take place in Berlin on February 11 or 12.
The Normandy Quartet envoys are constantly collaborating with each other on the issue, the ministerial spokesman noted.
"We very much hope and expect that there will be progress in the Contact Group soon," Schaefer stressed.
The Normandy Four group includes representatives from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France. It was created in 2014 to secure a peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. In February 2015, the quartet leaders worked out a ceasefire deal in Minsk, Belarus, signed by Kiev forces and militias of the eastern Ukrainian Donbas region.
