GENEVA (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova — Members of the Syrian opposition began receiving invitations to the intra-Syrian reconciliation talks in Geneva, one of the leaders of the Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation coalition confirmed to Sputnik on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, a source close to the moderate Syrian opposition delegation said its members had been getting the invitations to the negotiations after Switzerland's Foreign Affairs Department confirmed that opposition would be granted the right to enter the country for the talks slated for January 29.
"I have already received an invitation from [UN's Special Envoy for Syria] Staffan de Mistura's office and now I'm heading to Geneva, from where I will go to Lausanne to join the delegation. Members of our list have already been receiving invitations one by one," Qadri Jamil said.
Jamil added that Chairman of the Syrian Democratic Union Party (PYD) Salih Muslim Muhammad was included in the moderate opposition list, but could not confirm whether he had received the invitation.
