"Despite outside circumstances, international cooperation is developing steadily. Russia is actively participating in this activity. Russian policy in the Arctic is extremely open, there is no false bottom," Nuriddin Inamov said at the Arctic Frontiers conference in Norway.
Inamov reiterated the key points outlined in Russia’s Arctic strategy, including utilizing its resources for socio-economic development, preserving the region as a zone of peace and cooperation, as well as conserving its unique ecosystem.
"We are committed to cooperating with our partners in all these areas. Russia considers the Arctic a territory for dialogue and cooperation," he stressed.
Russia announced its strategy to boost its Arctic presence and accelerate the region’s development by 2020 two years ago.
