Lavrov, Kishida Discuss North Korea's Alleged Hydrogen Bomb Test
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Moscow is unconvinced that North Korea tested a hydrogen bomb, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

“We are currently in consultations with the Americans, our Chinese partners, as well as with representatives from the Republic of Korea and Japan on what occurred. We are unsure that this was the testing of a hydrogen bomb,” Lavrov said during his annual press conference.

No government, including Pyongyang, Seoul, or the United States, should have nuclear arms on the Korean Peninsula, Sergei Lavrov said.

“I believe that it’s possible to solve the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula because the task is not about North Korea not having nuclear weapons, but that no one has nuclear arms on the Korean Peninsula, including North Korea, South Korea, and the United States, who should not bring elements of their nuclear arsenal into the area again,” Lavrov said during his annual press conference.
