MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia is unlikely to eliminate corruption today or tomorrow, but if the fight against corruption stops, the situation will only worsen, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.
"People face corruption on the spot, as well the so-called everyday corruption. In general, we have a lot of work here. The issue is not in achieving any brilliant victories in this area today or tomorrow. This task is difficult and maybe a hard-hitting one, but if we stop, it will be worse, so we need to only move forward," Putin said at a meeting of the presidential anti-corruption council.
