DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — The Islamic State (Daesh) terrorist group seized the Nusra Front extremist group's military camp at the Syrian-Lebanese border on Friday, a source close to the Lebanon's Hezbollah movement said.
"The fighting between the terrorists in a mountain area [near Lebanese northeastern town of] Ersal last for the second day. Daesh [Arabic for ISIL] today seized Nusra's military camp, killing five militants and capturing six," the source told RIA Novosti.
According to the source, a senior Daesh member was among those killed in the fighting.
The Syrian government forces have been fighting extremist groups, including Daesh and Nusra Front, both outlawed in a number of countries including Russia, since 2011.
