GENEVA (Sputnik) — The talks between the Syrian government and the country's opposition are taking place on Friday evening.
"We coordinated before the talks start," Borodavkin said.
Jaafari arrived in Geneva earlier on Friday to meet UN Syria Envoy Staffan de Mistura.
In December 2015, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on settling the Syrian conflict. The resolution reaffirmed the goals of the Vienna agreements to gather the entire spectrum of political groups in the crisis-torn country at the negotiating table and stated that the next round of the talks would take place in January, 2016.
