Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu met on Friday in Istanbul to discuss a wide range of issues of common interest, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine, Turkey Agree to Ramp Up Military Cooperation in Black Sea

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The meeting was held in Istanbul's Dolmabahce palace behind closed doors.

On Thursday, Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Klimkin's visit would be a part of preparations for the fifth Turkey-Ukraine High Level Strategic Council Meeting, expected to be held in the following months.

According to the Turkish side, the two ministers were expected to discuss bilateral cooperation, current situation in the Black Sea region and conflict-torn eastern Ukraine, as well as rights of Crimean tatars.
