DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — The attacks took place in the Sayyidah Zaynab suburb town near Damascus, a local police source said Sunday. A large Shiite shrine is located in the district.
After a car bomb went off, people gathered to help the wounded, and then two terrorists detonated their explosive belts, Iranian SANA reported.
"Al least 52 people have died so far, over 100 civilians have been injured. There are plenty of children among the dead," a source from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
