WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Three days before Clinton faced her first test of US voters in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, the US Department of State announced it had discovered top-secret information on the private email server she used exclusively during her four years as secretary of state.
"According to the Presidential Records Act, those kinds of records will be released five years after the president [Obama] leaves office," Earnest told the daily White House press briefing. "The 18 emails will be released, there are no classification problems here."
Clinton’s only serious challenger for the Democratic presidential nomination, US Senator Bernie Sanders, has reversed is previous position over the weekend and now says the Clinton email issue is very serious after all.
"The president was aware of Clinton's email address, but the president was not aware of the existence of Sec Clinton's private server," Earnest told reporters.
