WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Businessman Donald Trump is leading Republican presidential candidates in the state of New Hampshire a week before the primaries there, according to a UMass Lowell/7NEWS poll released on Tuesday.
Trump enjoys 38 percent of likely voters’ support, while his closest rival Senator Ted Cruz 14 percent, the poll revealed.
US Senator Marco Rubio is polling at 10 percent, while former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has gained 9 percent support of likely Republican voters.
New Hampshire is the second state after Iowa to hold a vote for Republican and Democrat presidential candidates seeking their parties’ nominations in a bid to capture the US presidency.
The New Hampshire primaries are scheduled to take place on February 9.
On Monday, Cruz won the Republican caucus in Iowa, coming ahead of Trump by 3.3 percent of the votes.
