BERLIN (Sputnik) — A large majority of Germans, 81 percent, hold the opinion that the German authorities cannot cope with migration crisis facing the country, according to the results of a poll released by the ARD TV channel Thursday.
About 38 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the Cabinet's work, while 61 percent expressed either dissatisfaction, or slight discontent with its performance.
"At the same time, the Federal Chancellor is losing the people's support, 46 percent of respondents are pleased with her work, what is 12 points lower than in the previous month and, at the same time, the worst result for Angela Merkel since August 2011," the channel revealed.
The list of the most popular politicians, according to the study, is headed by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as 70 percent of respondents are pleased with his work. Steinmeier is followed by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, who is supported by 64 percent of respondents.
The survey was conducted on February 1-2. A total of 1,004 people were polled.
