LONDON (Sputnik) – Wikileaks founder Julian Assange will not leave the Ecuadorian Embassy on Friday because it is “too dangerous,” Assange’s friend, Gavin MacFadyen said.

“No, no, it’s too dangerous,” MacFadyen told RIA Novosti in response to whether the world should expect Assange to leave the embassy later in the day in London.

Assange’s possible extradition to Sweden is feared to be a precursor to the whistleblower’s transfer to the United States, where he could face espionage charges for publishing classified documents on WikiLeaks.
The WikiLeaks founder has been residing at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012 out of fear of being extradited, first to Sweden and ultimately to the United States where he could face espionage charges for publishing secret documents through his website.
On September 12, 2014, Assange submitted a complaint against London and Stockholm to the WGAD.
