MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The main Syrian Kurdish party, the PYD, was not invited to the intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva that started on January 29 and were later postponed until February 25.
"Kurds are important players in the Syrian reconciliation. In order to achieve solutions, all parties, except for terrorist groups, should be involved in the negotiations," Ybanez said.
On Saturday, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said the government wanted to see more representatives to the opposition list for the talks in Geneva, including Kurds.
The negotiations, organized in line with the UN Security Council's December resolution that stipulated that the entire spectrum of political factions in the crisis-torn country should be brought to the negotiating table, are expected to resume on February 25.
