Pyongyang does not recognize the maritime border, otherwise known as the Northern Limit Line (NLL), which was created by the US-led UN Command following the Korean war in 1950-1953, the media outlet reported.
The incident comes after North Korea reported a successful launch of a satellite atop a long-range rocket.
South and North Korea are still legally at war, as no peace treaty between them was signed after the Korean War of 1950-1953.
