WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The coalition conducted nine airstrikes on Sunday near five Iraqi cities to the north and west of Baghdad, including Ramadi and Mosul. The strikes destroyed multiple Daesh tactical units and fighting positions, as well as other targets, such as an anti-air artillery piece.
"Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted nine strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack and fighter aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets."
The US-led coalition airstrikes near the Syrian city of Hasaka, carried out on Sunday, destroyed a Daesh rocket position, according to the release.
"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted one strike using fighter aircraft," CENTCOM stated.
