MANCHESTER (Sputnik) — Local polling stations are open across New Hampshire, despite a winter snowstorm hitting the more populous southern and coastal counties. Most polls are set to close tonight at 7p.m. EST, with the final results expected before midnight.
Voting began for some residents at midnight on February 9, with a very small group of less than 70 voters in Dixville Notch, Hart's Location, and Millsfield casting their votes and deciding on Bernie Sanders and John Kasich to be the Democratic and Republican nominees respectively.
The latest polls indicate that the outcome for New Hampshire could be markedly different from last week’s Iowa caucuses.
The latest UMass/Amherst polls show Donald Trump holding a steady double-digit lead over the other Republicans who are vying for second place. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is showing a 16-point lead over former State Secretary Hillary Clinton in the same poll.
