Blabbermouths Anonymous: EU ‘Truth Seekers’ Whip Out the Big Guns

"Millions of people across the world speak Russian – not just the citizens of Russia, but people living in EU member states as well. Hence it is strategically important for the EU to make sure that its policies are heard and understood by all who prefer to read in Russian," the EU External Action Service said in a statement as it unveiled its latest brainchild – the official EEAS Russian-language website.

According to the EEAS, the site will present visitors with a wide assortment of publications on the anti-Russian sanctions, life in Ukraine, and EU efforts in the Middle East amongst other topics.

Last but not least, the website will also host 'Disinformation Reviews' aimed at exposing and debunking, what else, disinformation.

However, there is a catch: the Disinformation Reviews are not written by those who publish it, they are in fact compilations "of reports received from members of the mythbusting network" which "comprises of over 300 experts, journalists, officials, NGOs and Think Tanks in over 30 countries."

"Please note that opinions and judgements expressed here do not represent official EU positions," a disclaimer on the website helpfully warns.

The opening of the new website was announced on February 8.
