WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The only female Republican candidate and former Hewlett Packard Chief Executive Carly Fiorina has decided to end her 2016 bid for the White House, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.
"While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them," Fiorina wrote in a Facebook post.
Fiorina underscored that the United States must fix its "festering” problems by holding "the bloated, inept government bureaucracy” accountable.
"I will continue to serve in order to restore citizen government to this great nation so that together we may fulfill our potential," she added.
In the New Hampshire primaries on Tuesday, Fiorina garnered about 4 percent of votes, while businessman Donald Trump led the Republican candidates with more than 35 percent of voter support, according to Decision Desk.
