WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton plans to hire the former deputy manager of US President Barack Obama’s 2012 election campaign following her defeat in the New Hampshire primaries, US media reported on Wednesday.
Clinton’s decision comes a day after her opponent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders garnered over 60 percent of votes in New Hampshire, while she had some 38 percent.
The former Obama campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, previously an executive director of the Democratic National Committee in 2009 and consultant to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s campaign, now works for Precision Strategies communications firm, NBC News reported.
In August 2015, the New York Times reported that O'Malley Dillon had been informally advising Clinton’s campaign after the former secretary of state faced scrutiny over her email scandal.
US presidential candidates are now preparing for the South Carolina primaries in the state-to-state campaign to choose the Democrat and Republican nominees to compete in the November elections.
