MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow is concerned over information on the beginning of negotiations between Washington and Seoul on the deployment of US air defense systems in South Korea, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
“Concern arises over information on the decision between the United States and the Republic of Korea to begin official negotiations on the possible deployment of US anti-missile defense systems in South Korea. This measure is being sold as a response to North Korea’s launching of a nuclear weapon on January 6, and the launch of a [ballistic] carrier rocket on February 7,” the Foreign Ministry said in a commentary.
