WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Sanders campaign said that within 18 hours of the polls closing in New Hampshire it raised more than $5 million, "shattering the campaign’s previous record for money raised in less than a day."
Voters donated an average of $34 after Sanders urged voters in his victory speech in New Hampshire to donate to his campaign in order to continue successfully campaigning in the states of Nevada and South Carolina that will hold primaries next.
On Tuesday night, Sanders defeated his opponent Hillary Clinton by obtaining more than 60 percent of the votes the in New Hampshire primary.
