BERLIN (Sputnik) – A meeting of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in Bavaria, Germany, in the run-up to the Munich Security Conference will be held with the participation of Russia, the Arab League, the European Union and the United States, the German Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
Representatives of Russia, Egypt, China, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates will take part in the meeting, the ministry said in a statement.
The participants will discuss the implementation of the Vienna principles, UN Security Council resolution 2254 on Syrian reconciliation and the continuation of the Geneva peace talks, it was specified in the statement.
UN-mediated negotiations between the Syrian government and several opposition delegations in the Swiss city of Geneva were suspended last week.
