Medvedev represents the Russian delegation at the February 12-14 Munich Security Conference, where he is expected to meet Bavarian Minister-President Horst Seehofer fresh off his trip to Russia.
"I do not rule out that the migration issue may be raised in the negotiations. It is not uninteresting in light of the Bavarian authorities’ view of the situation," Prikhodko told reporters.
Seehofer has been a staunch opponent of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s migration policy. Earlier this month, he said that Germany could handle no more than 200,000 arrivals a year. Germany accepted over a million refugees in 2015 as Europe grappled with the greatest refugee crisis since World War II.
Bavaria, a key gateway to one of the main refugee destinations in Europe, saw an average of 4,000 new daily arrivals in December.
