"Raytheon systems performed well during DDG 1000's… week-long, at-sea exercise that demonstrated key ship capabilities, including the Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) and engineering control systems," the release, issued on Wednesday, stated.
The TSCE provides all computing applications on the ship, including combat management system; command, control, communications, computers and intelligence elements; ship and machinery control systems, according to the release.
Raytheon is the prime mission-systems equipment integrator for the three warships of the US Zumwalt-class program, which were designed as guided-missile carrying destroyers and multi-mission stealth ships with a focus on land attacks.
Originally, the 32 Zumwalt destroyers were planned, but only three are being finally built.
