“[Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition and Logistics] Richard Lombardi… was reassigned to duties outside of the Air Force acquisition portfolio,” the announcement stated on Friday.
The reassignment followed Lombardi’s voluntary disclosure that he had not reported a Northrop Grumman retirement account held by his wife in his annual public financial disclosure form, the AFNS explained.
“Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James announced that Darlene Costello, a senior acquisition official in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L), is assuming {Lombardi’s] duties,” the announcement added.
The US Department of Defense Inspector General is investigating the Lombardi case, according to the announcement.
