MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Daesh militants in Iraq are looking for their regional security official in the Hit district, who had stolen over $85,000, local media reported Saturday.
"Daesh militants are searching the area in the Hit district, and have installed road patrols trying to find the person the group had nominated as responsible for security in the region," the source told al-Samaria television channel.
Daesh has taken over large areas of Iraq and neighbouring Syria.
A US-led international coalition has been carrying out airstrikes against Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014.
The group is outlawed in many countries around the world, including Russia.
