NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar summoned US Ambassador Richard Verma on Saturday to express dissatisfaction over the US decision to sell F-16 fighter aircraft to Pakistan.
Earlier on Saturday, Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said India was disappointed at the US President Barack Obama Administration's decision on the sale.

Swarup stressed that New Delhi disagreed with the US rationale that the arms transfer would help to combat terrorism.
Relations between India and Pakistan have been strained since they declared independence from Britain almost 70 years ago. Both countries lay claims to the Kashmir region in India’s north.
